Devils Split on North Country Swing

The Fredonia State Blue Devils split a pair of games this weekend falling to Plattsburgh 4-1 on Friday in a rain soaked contest.  Plattsburgh was the beneficiary of early Blue Devil defensive mistakes in the wet conditions.  The team fought back to 3-1 at the start of the second half with a goal by Jake Persons only to have Plattsburgh reclaim momentum for their fourth goal soon after.  At Potsdam the Devils claimed the lead early when Luke Tylutki scored his sixth goal of the season.  The Devils pushed hard for the second goal but it wasn't to be.  Additionally, the defense played well closing down a late challenge by Potsdam.

The Devils stand at 12 points in the SUNYAC standings, now one point behind Potsdam and one point ahead of Plattsburgh.  They will face New Paltz and Oneonta this weekend to close out the regular season and look to secure a home play-off game.

Below the Devils stop in Liverpool, NY to stretch their legs on the way North.  Check out the footage.
