St Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas basket project

For the third year in a row the Fredonia State men's soccer team participated in the
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas basket projectBelow team members (from left to right Brodie Fenton, Sam Guider,  Josh Best, Jake Persons and Jay Dry) volunteered their time this past Saturday.  The Christmas Basket project, a service project of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton CYO prepared and delivered gifts and food to about 130 needy families in the Dunkirk and Fredonia area. On Saturday, volunteers were assigned a family.  They "shopped" for donated toys at the church and were able to add to their baskets at Big Lots with additional gifts.  Big Lots shopping was funded entirely by donations.  The gifts were then wrapped and delivered on Sunday.

Assistant coach Dan Smith, who assists up the project, said this of the players willingness to help. "Since the timing of the project falls right around a very important part of year for our student-athletes in finals week it was and always has been optional.  It just goes to show what type of kids we have here at FSU."  Below Josh Best and Sam Guider prepare a Christmas basket that may hopefully help to make the holiday a little bit brighter for a special child.
